This gallery illustrates some of the major types of activities organized by MEC users at the Center.

GIPA CSJMM graduate students shot and edited features stories for a converged Newscast which was organized, produced and live broadcasted via web by the students under careful guidance of CSJMM journalism faculty- Nino Orjonikidze, Tiko Nachkebia and Nino Japiashvili. Both hands-on assignments were part of the Converged Newsroom Course as part of the two-year MA Program in Journalism and Media Management.

Twenty five young journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia arrived in Tbilisi to attend a multimedia and journalism course organized by Free Press Unlimited.

Participants had an opportunity to practice their skills in multimedia storytelling. With the help of professional and experienced journalists as well as photographers they developed the story ideas and made a finished multimedia projects at the end of the course.

Eight short documentary films produced by graduate students of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) were screened at GIPA DocU Festival.

Story ideas were developed during a graduate course in documentary film making. Students had approximately six months to shoot the films. Both production and screening was supporting by IREX G-MEDIA program and USAID.

The winner of the festival- Ketevan Begashvili, director of a 26-minute documentary “A parcel from Athens”- will attend a ONE WORLD Documentary Film Festival in Prague with the financial support of IREX G-MEDIA program and USAID.

The Radio Liberty School of Media in partnership with Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association and Transparency International Georgia organizes a cycle of discussions across various disciplines such as technology, journalism, governance, and development. These discussions are recorded at the MEC studio space which gives both guests and future journalists an opportunity to obtain real television program production experience.
